Brain Cyst?

Can you die from a brain cyst, what are some of the symptoms of a brain cyst?

Brain Cyst?
I just had an operation on October 17/2005.I had a cyst(tumor) in my ear canal millimetres from my brain. I did not know that i had it there, had alot of earaches all the time in there. My family doc just gave me drops all the time, and than he finally sent me to a surgeon and he had me go to do a CAT scan. There it was.If you are dizzy, it felt like i was having trails when i looked too fast, can't keep balance, i did get sick sometimes at nite, hard to concentrate. My surgeion told me about this guy who came in the hospital and died 36 hours after that cause it burst and that causes meningitis. He didn't know that he had it. I would advise to get it out. There was alot of risks, but i would deal with that instead of dying like that and i am fine the surgery was a success.Do not wait. Mine wasn't cancerous at all. I did lose 2/3 bones in my ear so i can't hear well out of the one, as the cyst broke them unrepairable. But i am alive and well so far.Just do it and get it looked at.

Vaginal Cyst?

I have a quarter sized vaginal cyst on my inner labia. I have tried warm compresses, soaking in a tub and nothing has changed. I can feel it while I am having inter cuorse and have noticed since it has been there the past 2 years, I have been experiencing vaginal dryness during inter course. Could the cyst be why? I have talked to my OB about it and she says that unless I am having pain then she can not do anything for it. Please help.

Vaginal Cyst?
You need to talk to her again.
Reply:See a homeopath. I have treated this condition quickly and efficiently.

Bakers Cyst?

I have a Bakers Cyst. I have had it for five years. I have recently had surgery to repair a torn minuscus. My Doc says that the cyst will go away. But it seems to be growing. What should I do?

Bakers Cyst?
Bakers Cyst (Popliteal Cyst)

--------------------------------------...

Definition

Baker's cyst, a collection of synovial fluid which has escaped from the knee joint or a bursa and formed a new synovial-lined sac in the popliteal space; seen in degenerative or other joint diseases.

Radiographic Appearance

Not generaly seen on a plain radiograph unless extensive, demonstrated on, a modified arthrogram, ultrasound, ct and MRI imaging.

Pathology

A baker’s cyst is a small (sometimes large) sack of fluid behind the knee. The sack itself is quite normal. Most people have one but it usually does not have enough fluid in it to be noticeable. It will cause problems only when it becomes swollen with fluid, especially if the comminication with the knee joint is via a one-way valve which lets fluid out into the cyst but prevents fluid from flowing back into the knee.

The fluid is almost always due to some problem within the joint itself such as arthritis or a torn cartilage. Occasionally the cyst fills up with fluid for other reasons.

Occasionally the cyst can leak fluid into the calf and cause calf sweeling, tightness %26amp; pain. This may even simulate a calf DVT (deep vein thrombosis)

It is easily diagnosed by a careful examination and an ultrasound scan.

Sometimes the cyst communication can be seen arthroscopically and the one-way flap valve excised.

Treatment:

It is best treated by treating the cause of the excess fluid (fixing the cartilage tear or arthritis) and then the Bakers cyst usually fades away. A large and persistent Bakers cyst may require surgical removal which is done through an incision across the back of the knee, although it can sometimes be removed by arthroscopic surgery direct to the cyst.

I have a cyst.?

i had gotten an ultrasound done and it came back that i have a 5cm cyst on my ovary and it has solid and fluid in it. i have to go for a MRI to make sure its not cancerous. i did some research they arent cancerous right lik there is a basically very very slight chance that it could be? idk about cysts at all infact the research i did makes no sense either, i shouldnt worry bout it though right?its jus a cyst?

I have a cyst.?
More than likely it's nothing. I had a 3 cm one on my ovary, the doc just put me on birth control pills. Don't worry until you have something to worry about.
Reply:dont worry! your doctor has take all precautions to make sure everything is ok. i have a cyst on my right ovary, and it freaked me out sooo bad too. usually they go away on their own, or i heard of some kind of pill that helps dissolve them. ive had mine for about 3 months and its actually painful. my best has tons of small ones on both ovaries that come and go, and her doctor also said its nothing to worry about. you are doing everything right by getting the MRI , so dont worry! :) i hope everything works out ok!!! good luck!
Reply:I had a cyst on one of my ovarys as well. Mine came back none cancerous. It went away on it's own and the doctor told me to stay on birth control pills to prevent them from forming. They are pretty common, and usually nothing to worry about.
Reply:don't worry about it at all. it's highly unlikely it will be cancerous. i had a cyst on my ovary as well about 3 years ago. honestly, there's nothing to worry about.

OVARIAN CYST, CAN IT MIMIC PREGNANCY? help me?

what would be the symptoms of ovarian cyst, if large would it cause pressure on your back? i've been having these weird pains on my left side from my mid to lower abdomen , also a lot of lower back pain that sometimes runs down my leg, when i lay down i feel a heavy pressure on my left side like if it where being pushed down ive been urinating alot and constipated ( when i have a small bowel movement my stool is very very dark), i am so worried, i've only had sex once, we used a condom and it was 2 days before my period ended, im scared to go to the hospital because i;ve been thinking im pregnant since the day after sex, i dont know i think it would be too much coincidence that i start having these symptoms 7 weeks after my first sex encounter, although cyst run in my family most women in my mothers side have gotten them when they were around my age, my mother also had one, but can it be too much coincidence or is it possible?

OVARIAN CYST, CAN IT MIMIC PREGNANCY? help me?
Well I had two rather large ovarian cyst about 14 months ago..they almost te size of footballs..anyway I never knew they were there for about 10 yrs they hid away on me..the only sign that I had them was that i would have extremely painful periods. Well last year I went to bed christmas night and on christmas morning I woke up in agonizing pain in my lower right back and it was reaching around to my lower right adomen..i went to work thinking ohh this should go away, but it didnt. They ended up calling a family member and rushing me to the er where I spent a better portion of the day. They did blood work and x-rays and nothing showed up in them but when the docter did a Cat Scan and Ultrasound they found the cyst...I would say it is possible or you to have cyst..

Ovarian cysts are very common. Most are related to ovulation and will disappear spontaneously. Cysts are usually diagnosed by vaginal examination or ultrasound. If the cyst persists it should be removed since it can rupture, undergo torsion or may be malignant. Benign cysts can be managed with the laparoscope, although if the cyst turns out to be a cancer it should be removed via a formal laparotomy. Depending on the situation and the age of the woman, the cyst may be removed on its own or the whole ovary may be removed.

Ovarian cyst?

I have been having pain in the left side where my ovary is, and it hurts into my left hip and the lower left side of my back hurts, but the right side where my ovary is swelled up. It also make my left leg hurt, and it hurts to sit, stand , or walk. It also feels full only on my left side...I have had an ovarian cyst before, but the only thing I had with it was alot of pain, and that was it.. I have an appt with my OBGYN march 5th, but I dont think I can wait that long. Could it be an ovarian cyst agian, or something else. I know noone knows for sure and this isn't a doctors office, but I need some advice.

Ovarian cyst?
I had a couple of Ovarian Cysts that resulted in Emergency surgery. I was informed that had the biggest one burst, I would have bled to death. It's nothing to mess around with. Get in and find out what's going on for sure, it might save your life.
Reply:I think you should get in ASAP. You dont want to fool around with pain like that. It almost sounds like you may have an ectopic pregnancy which is common if you have ovarian cysts. The lastthing you want is one of the fallopian tubes to burst. Get it checked out as soon as you can
Reply:Try a hot pad or hot bath. Zuke is right it could be an ectopic pregnancy or a twisted tube, etc. Better go to the ER.
Reply:If you are in alot of pain you should not wait.I use to get them alot when I was younger. It helps to use a heating pad to releave some of the discomfort. You also could have a kidney infection too. Also hot baths can help too.
Reply:Call your OB/GYN and tell them you're experiencing this pain...see if they can get you an earlier appt. If the pain gets worse, go to the ER...A cyst can ruture and cause you even more problems
Reply:Pls get in touch with the OB/GYN's office on Tues to see about getting in sooner than the 5th.

In the mean time because you are having a lot of pain either try a walk-in urgent care clinic or the ER.
Reply:sounds like same pain i had with my cyst. but that was only after mine burst. but i still have a couple on my right side and i feel some pain with them still, but nothing sever, just a little achy from time to time. but yes, what u said sounds like a cyst again. if the pain is unbearable try to go in to the doc sooner. if no appts available try another doc or the er. someone else mentioned the possibility of ectopic pregnancy, which is certainly possible, and urgent. but again, we cant know for sure. (i think u would feel a lot sicker if it were that though)

Ovary/cyst removal while 3 months pregnant??

I'm 3 months pregnant. I've had an 8cm cyst on my left ovary that my doctor's have been monitoring. I went to a specialist yesterday, and it's now 10cm. They are wanting to remove the cyst and the ovary within the next week and a half. They said they will have to cut from belly button down which is right where the baby is at. I'm a NERVOUS WRECK! I am going to have a specialist do it, but was curious has anyone had this happen or know anything about this?? Will the baby be ok? Especially with them opening my stomach completely up and being put under anesthesia? And removing my ovary...is this a major surgery-I'm literally scared to death and would like any advice anyone can give from experiences or knowledge. Thank you soo much!

Ovary/cyst removal while 3 months pregnant??
Calm down, they are not going to cut into your uterus where the baby is, remember they are going to cut from belly button down into your skin and go to the ovaries, not the uterus, about the anesthesia, it sounds like they want to take care of this cyst before it causes you and or the baby more harm, meaning it could grow and turn into cancer or something like that, and infect you and the baby. Dont worry, I know it is hard not to, but ask your doctor how this will effect the baby, and what are the risks if you do not have it done.
Reply:I pray that it will go well. Ive never experienced this situation.
Reply:don't worry everything is going to be ok!! my sister had a tumor in a ovary and she was 8 months pregnant.. they cut her from the belly button to remove it.. don't stress it your going to be ok good luck!!

Ovary/cyst removal while 3 months pregnant??
This is not as rare as you might think. The reason for removal is because if it continues to grow, is hemorrhagic or ruptures, it will definitely put your pregnancy and you in grave risk.

Now being honest, surgery always carries risks. After all, it is an invasive procedure but your chance of harm to the pregnancy is far greater from the cyst itself if it is growing.

Of course you are nervous! This is surgery! You are pregnant and worried for your baby! You wouldn't be normal if you weren't worried. It is major surgery due to the opening of the abdomen and the pregnancy but the surgeon and anesthesiologist will do everything to preserve your pregnancy.

Also, is the doctor planning another ultrasound before the surgery? Sometimes, the cyst will resolve before surgery can be done so you might get a pleasant surprise. It is the hormones of pregnancy during the first three months than can cause these cysts to grow. Don't count on the cyst resolving, I am just letting you know that it can and does happen.

BTW, I have seen quite a few of these and not one single mother lost her baby! Good luck, sweetie and try not to worry too much.

Ovarian cyst?

My wife was diagnosed with an ovarian cyst as a teenager. She never did anything about it because it only causes her slight discomfort while she is in ovulation. We asked the obgyn about it and I wasn’t satisfied with her answer. Will this cyst make it harder for to conceive?

Ovarian cyst?
It depends on how advance the cyst really is. A woman usually developes cysts around the time of her monthly... most of the time they go away. My friend is pregnant... about ready to pop... and her cysts are so bad that they will have to remove both ovaries completely if she ever wanted to get rid of them. I would get a second opinion. If it's a dermoid... then they would have to surgically remove them. I myself used to have ovarian cysts... but mine were dermoids... I just recently got them removed back in Feb. I don't know what else to tell you. But with the cysts... conception is going to be a little more difficult. Good luck!!
Reply:i dont know, but you should get a second or third ob/g opinion and dont go based on any anecdotal or "guess" answers that you might get on here..
Reply:Yes it can make it harder and sometimes impossible. It depends on the severity of the cyst. I would request a more detailed answer from the doc.
Reply:It depends on her diagnosis - without knowing all the information, the information you get here will be suggestions at best.

I would suggest going to a oby/gyn for further evaluation. It sounds as if she may have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) - if this is the case, then yes, this condition does make it difficult to conceive.

Can an ovarian cyst become painful?

I was at my GYN's office this morning for a routine yearly exam. She felt what she thought was a cyst on my right ovary and I am scheduled for an ultrasound in ten days. At the time of the exam she asked if it was painful and it really wasn't really at all. I had no pain whatsoever prior to my appointment.

Now several hours later it is VERY painful - the pain came on rather quickly. It sort of ebbs and flows, but sometimes it is a "shooting" type pain. I was wondering if cysts can become painful "suddenly".

I am 40 years of age with no history of ovarian cysts and in good health.

Thank you so much!

Can an ovarian cyst become painful?
My sister is only 23 and she has cysts. Yes cysts can become very painful very quickly. Just take some ibuprophen or something for the pain.
Reply:Yes they can become painful quickly. They are often misdiagnosed as appendicitis. They often react differently depending on your cycle. I always noticed more pain just prior to my period.
Reply:If the cyst bursts it can become quite painful. I have not experienced it myself but a friend of mine didn't even know she had them until one burst and she couldn't get up off the floor. I would contact your OBGYN and let them know whats going on. Good luck!
Reply:Yes they can. Especially if they begin to turn, twist and eventually rupture.
Reply:Yes if Torsion ( twisting ) of the cyst occurs then there will be sudden pain......... probably ur cyst was not malignant so u were not rushed to diagnosis....... now go back and tell ur gynaecologist u have severe pain.......

Advice.. Just go back to hospital...wait and see or just simple pain killer medicines are not recommended in ur case
Reply:Eeeks! Yes they can your doctor probaly didn't help when she was pokin around either. Its a good thing she made an ultrasound appt, but if it gets worse please go to ER because ovarian cysts can burst and it is verryyyy painful, almost like labor pain. This happened to me a couple years ago. They'll most likely just do an ultrasound right there in the ER and then your Dr. would get the results anyhow, and she might want to follow up on it still with the ultrasound you have scheduled already.

Added more to cyst on left ovary?

Cyst on left ovary?

I have a 7cm cyst on left ovary,it was found 1 month ago when i could feel a lump, at ovulation time i was in that much pain i ended up going to the hospital. the doc said its just a functional cyst and should go down, i dont think it has, doc also said to have another ultrasound on 30/4, if its still there will i need to have it removed?

Additional Details

edited to add - i should also say that my period came 2 weeks early lasted about 5 days and was quite heavy, would they be linked?

Added more to cyst on left ovary?
if the cyst does not go down and the pain is intolerable they may take it out. Do not panic, it is not a terrible surgery. My sisters and I have all had them removed. The recovery time is not bad and the scaring is small. good luck hope you feel better.
Reply:i dnt think you will have to have it removed prob surgry to help or just meds i guess it depends

Ovarian Cyst while pregnant?

I was told that I have a cyst on my left side of my ovary ; ( My GYN doc. told me that the cyst is very small, but I dont understand why do I still feel pain??????????

I been feeling butterflys in my stomach (24/07) %26amp; sometimes I get sharp pains in my stomach.

I am 8 wks pregnant now... ever since I found out I just havent been able to sleep... if you have any type of information for me please tell me something!!

I know this not normal to feel anything this early @ 8 wks pregnant...

I just been really worried about my baby's health, I keep thinking that I'm going to have an unnormal baby ; (

I just pray that my baby will be as healthy as my 1st child ;(

Please somebody out there HELPPPPP ME!!

Ovarian Cyst while pregnant?
The butterfly feeling could be a mild case of morning sickness. It is possible to get morning sickness as early as the first month. It could also just be that you are stressing about this and upsetting yourself.

You need to talk to your gyno and discuss with them the effects this could have in your personal case, but most of the time, it is usually not any harm to your baby. You also need to discuss with them the sharp pains if you haven't already. It may be related to the cyst and even though it is small, it could still be causing pain, especially since you do have a growing baby taking up more room and pressing on things surrounding it-including the ovaries. The best thing you can do right now is to settle down and try not to stress too much about it. Stress is not good for your baby or you. Talk with your doctor to relieve some of your worries.

Good luck and congrats on the pregnancy!
Reply:Please stop panicking I'm sure your baby will be fine I had a very large ovarian cyst removed and one of my ovaries it was 26cm big and 10pints of fluid was drianed out of it but that was just unlucky for me when you are pregnant because of the vast amount of hormones your body is producing it's highly likely that it will dissapear on its own in what would normally be your next couple of cycles the amount time between your usual periods but like I said I have only one ovary with an egg size cyst on it at the moment and I'm trying to concieve I have seen a specialist gynacologist who assures me even if I concieve now it will not harm my baby whatsoever and he told me it's very likely my cyst will dissapear if I am to get pregnant if your doctor or gyne were concerned in any way they would have run further tests on you what I had was very rare and was left undiagnosed for a long time they no its there now so then can check for any changes and keep an eye on it but it probably will dissapear however you shouldnt feel pain from it thats worth telling your doctor about I only experienced pain with mine before I was operated on but only because my cyst was so large and pushing on my kidneys and bladder it may be just down to the fact you are pregnant please try not to worry to much I no thats easy for me to say but I do understand your concerns because I wanted all my questions answering to do with my cyst before trying to concieve I hope you have a healthy happy pregnancy and I'm sure you will both be ok if you'r still worried speak more to your doctor or gyne they are there to answer your questions I think you may be thinking about it a little to much and are worried with every little pinch pull or movement in your stomach.Any way Congratulations on your pregnancy Hope this helped a bit Take care and good luck with everything Kay :0) x

Ovarian cyst ruptured - shoulder pain?

I had an ovarian cyst burst approx one week ago, I am feeling better, however I am still have body aches. The day it happened, I was having a sharp shooting (on and off again) pain in my right shoulder, the doctor said it was just the blood from the cyst trying to reabsorb back into my body. Today the rest of my body feels fine, but I still have that sharp pain in my shoulder. Is this normal?

Ovarian cyst ruptured - shoulder pain?
The ovaries aren't supplied with nerves as specific as those in your fingers, tongue, skin, etc. What you have when you have pain in the ovaries is "referred" pain, where it touches off a nerve somewhere along the line.

I'm not sure of referred ovarian pain, but sometimes when women are pregnant and the baby is outside the uterus and in the fallopian tube (ectopic pregnancy), the referred pain is between the shoulder blades. I *assume* that this is kind of what's happening to you because of the general area being so similar.

EDIT: If the pain is bad, though, let your doctor know.
Reply:i'm not sure if it is normal.

try contacting your doctor and telling him about this shooting pain.

i doubt its related to the cyst, but it could be
Reply:try to rupture the cyst again
Reply:you're probably fine. but if it continues, i would go back to your doctor. i had an ovarian cyst last year - no fun. :] good luck!

Pain with Pilonidal cyst???!!???

What type of pain is associated with the Pilonidal cyst? I have one and am seeing a surgeon tomorrow however I was just curious about what others pain was like....mine is not excrutiating at all. In fact it is failry manageable. The most pain is a discomfort inside. It's more my lower back that is sore and uncomfortable. Is that what anyone else has experienced?

They said I also have Staph and Strep in the cyst, which I am on antibiodics for, but I was just curious about the pain.

How bad does it hurt others and what is the pain like???

Pain from the cyst...not the surgery

some history.....I have had it for 4 years+ but never really bothered me until about two months ago. Now it constantly drains and bleeds, which is why I went to the DR....I was just curious about the pain because I read horror stories, but mine isnt so bad...just makes my lower back hurt...unless its something else.

Pain with Pilonidal cyst???!!???
pilonidal cyst is no entity but is called pilonidal sinus.it is a chronic condition and can only be cured by surgery and is notoriously recurring unless the surgery has been perfect.

Thyroglossal duct cyst?

ok, I am a 22 y/o female. I just found out that I will need surgery for a thyroglossal duct cyst. I am interested in any information about recovery from the preocedure. If anyone has has the sistrunk preocedure done, please let me know how it was for you. I am anxious to find out. Thanks in advance.

Thyroglossal duct cyst?
depending on the site and size of the cyst , the operation as well as post-operative recovry is usually uneventful. so there is no need to worry.

What is a pericardial cyst and how is it treated?

Recently the Dr. discovered a mass in my 25 year old husband's chest. It was found by accident during a pre-op work up for minor sinus surgery. A cat scan revealed that is is a cystic (fluid filled) mass near the middle of his chest. They do not believe it's cancer at this time, but cannot rule it out either and have mentioned a possible pericardial cyst. I know that it means a cyst in the sac around the heart, but not much else. Also, they said that pericardial cyst that are congenital are often harmless, however my husband had a chest xray last year and it was clear, so they believe the cyst might be 'acquired' and that this means a highler likely hood of something serious. Any information would be great!

What is a pericardial cyst and how is it treated?
The heart is surrounded by two continuous layers of fibrous tissue called the pericardium. A pericardial cyst is a fluid-filled mass within the outer layer of the pericardium.

Pericardial cysts are benign (non-malignant). As in your husband's case, most of them are discovered incidentally (while looking for something else) on chest X-ray or other imaging of the chest area. Most are entirely symptomless, but in around a third of cases, the patient can develop symptoms - typically, chest pain, shortness of breath or coughing.

The diagnosis is usually confirmed with a CT scan (with contrast) of the region. Treatment options include observation (with serial followups), drainage via the skin, or surgical excision. Which route is followed will depend on the cyst itself and on the patient's general state of health.

There are obviously other options for a fluid-filled collection in this region, but most of the confusion can be cleared up with good imaging (e.g. the CT scan above). If I were you, I'd try to wait for further imaging results to come back, and not worry too much (much easier said than done, I know!).

Hope this helps. If you want a more detailed version, I've found this case study on the net: http://www.ctsnet.org/sections/clinicalr...

Cyst on left ovary?

been to my doctor have had an internal examination and have a cyst on my left ovary they think my concern is i look seven months pregnant but have to wait another month for scan also have a dragging feeling down below has anyone else had this can the cyst go on its own in the meantime

Cyst on left ovary?
No sweetheart, cysts cannot disapper or just go on their own. Actually they usually grow bigger, and thats exactly why your doctor is waiting a month for your next ultrasound scan. I also had a cyst on my left ovary for almost 6 months (I had 3 ultrasounds done in that time); the doctor saw it was growing more each time and decided to operate it by laparaotomy (a C-section) a month ago. He had to remove not only the cyst but also the complete ovary because it was black and unfunctional; I will get the pathology results next week. Im still recovering from the surgery right now. I actually was a lot more swollen the 3 weeks following th surgery than what I was before it. If you would like to talk more with me you can contact me by clicking on my avatar. I hope everything goes well with you.
Reply:when i was pregnant i got the regular ultrasound down to make sure everything was okay. when the technician handed me the paper work i read it over and saw that it said i had a cyst on my left ovary. i started to freak out, but managed to keep calm until i saw my doctor again. i asked her about it, and she said it was common among pregnant women. that's all she said and that was the end. nothing more ever happened, so i assumed it went away on its own. and i havent had any problems since.

Cyst on ovary?

I had a miscarriage on Thanksgiving....I was 7wks. I had an ultrasound at the ER on Sunday and they said that everything seemed to be fine and cleared out, but they did find a cyst on my right ovary. Could this have caused the miscarriage? I was just thinking about it, I have had ovarian cysts and endometriosis since I was about 15, Im 25 now. We want to try again when my body is ready in about 3 months, but I want to know if this is just going to happen again. Im so upset and want to know what I am up against...Thanks..Good luck to all you preggers out there. Wishing you happy healthy babies!

Cyst on ovary?
I had what they call a Corpus Luteum Cyst. It's caused when the egg is released but the cyst goes away into your second trimester. That how my doctor determined I got pregnant from my right ovary since that's where the cyst was located. I don't think it caused your miscarriage at all. Keep your spirits high and try not to stress. Easier said than done, but at least try. Next time will be different! Good luck!
Reply:yes it could have caused it, my friend had on because of a cyst. you have a chance of having it again but you have to be careful when you do get pregnant again, you will be at a high risk
Reply:I had a cyst grow on my ovary only when I was pregnant. I seriously son't believe that a cyst on your ovary would cause your miscarriage. the egg has already been released, and you are pregnant...your ovary has nothing to do with your uterus after it has released the egg. You may want to confirm that with your DR. Most miscarriages are just nature's way of telling youthat there was something wrong with the baby.
Reply:The cyst could have caused the miscarriage, but its really not likely because

my OBGYN told me that the only cure for cysts is pregnancy. Your cyst won't bother you because your body is not producing or discarding eggs, but it also depends on what kind of cyst you have as well.

Cyst on my sons Penis?

My son who is 5 has either a pimple or a cyst on the side of his penis (on the shaft below the head) is this of concern. Having a hard time letting me or his Mom look at it but i got a look when he was sleeping and looks like it is a little bigger then a pea in size bigger than i expected . cant tell if it is a pimple or cyst. Probally call the doctor if in a few days it is still there. Is this a common issue ??? is there something else it can be that i am orverlooking???

Thank you in advance, a concerend Dad.

Cyst on my sons Penis?
If there is any doubt, you should take him to the doctor, especially if the cyst changes shape or gets larger. If it's just a pimple it will go away on its own.
Reply:well I am glad u are concerned I have a free nurses line you can call if you want it email me.
Reply:OK I had a white head on my Penis when I was a teenager. It's no biggie. It popped when I got wood. Double squirt.

I'd do the doctor thing anyway just to make sure.

Oh and to screw with his mind, tell him it's from playing with it.
Reply:You looked while he was sleeping? Geesh. I guess you can do that at age 5, but what if he woke up? Anyway my son complained about something like a pimple but then wouldn't let us look. I was concerned but I told him I can't help him unless he shows us. he fell down in a sport earlier that day so his Dad just brushed it off and told him it was from that. We never heard anything about it again. I never did know what it was but it scared the heck out of me.
Reply:It could be, and probably is, just a pimple. I had one on my penis once...in the same area you describe. It got rather large before I popped it. It was gross but it felt much better. Try a long warm bath and see if that helps.
Reply:My friend, it looks like a cyst and white below the gland (skin that covers the head) do not worry, that happened to my son. Create the habit that every time your son goes to the bathroom pull with care the skin and in few days the "cyst" will disappear. But if the color is yellow it is because there is an inflamation. I think it is a little big and you should consult a doctor.

Cyst on my ovary's???

okay i went to the doctor and had a vaginal ultrasound done on my ovarys and the doc found 3 golf ball size cyst on the right one. he said that i need to come back next month to have another one done(vaginal ultrasound) to see if they have shrank any. i asked him if i need to have a surgery to remove them and he said no that they would go away by themselves....so my question is DO CYST GO AWAY BY THEMSELVES?

Cyst on my ovary's???
Usually yes they do. I have had tons of cysts (I can thank PCOS for that), and haven't had any major problems. I sometimes feel pain from them, but usually I don't notice them. At my last check up I had cysts on both side. If you do start to experience heavy bleeding or severe pain, I would go to the ER or call your dr., but for the most part I think just monitoring them is enough.
Reply:Usually they will shrink or burst on their own, but can be very painful in the meantime. Unfortunately unless you want a hysterectomy you have to learn to manage with them.
Reply:I have dealt with cyst's all my life and they never go away! they burst and cause more cyst's and can make you sterile if left there. they need to be remove'd i actually had 1 weighing 9lbs.! the size of a grapefruit. you need to have them taken care of.
Reply:sometimes they do, but the pain can be VERY great. I had surgery to drain mine, they'd gotten to be nearly an inch in size. I should tell you that I had surgery for my endometriosis, the doctor just took care of this while he was there. I've had no ovarian pain since.

Cyst in the mouth?

I think I may have a cyst on the inside of my mouth. I'm thirteen and I have braces. About a week ago I woke up and brushed my teeth and saw a little bubble on my gum. It has like deflated now and is flat but you can still kind of see it. Are cysts common in the gum? Do you have to get them removed? I'm going to the dentist today.

Cyst in the mouth?
It's just a sore.

Cyst in the mouth? really need answers please!?

Definitely ask your dentist about it when you go just to be on the safe side, but it sounds like you just had a blister.

Blisters in the mouth are fairly common for people with braces, especially in areas where food regularly gets caught when you eat, or in areas where rubber bands or headgear connect to the braces themselves. I had really bad problems with blisters in my cheeks from where the brackets rubbed when I had braces. Aside from keeping your braces clean and covering anything that rubs the area with bracket wax there's not much to be done about it.

Cyst on my ovaries?

I have cyst on my ovaries and i wanna know if i am gaining weight because of it and if i can have a baby with cyst on both my ovaries.

Cyst on my ovaries?
It sounds like you could have PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome). The first step would be to make an appointment with an Adult Endocrinologist. They can do blood tests to determine what hormones are out of whack for you.

One of the side effects of having PCOS is insulin resistance. This causes weight gain, especially around your middle. The actions to take are to start cutting out refined sugars (yes, it's hard!) and to exercise.

If you are in a position where you are trying to get pregnant, then talk to your endocrinologist about it. They have a lot of different medications and lifestyle changes to help women with this get pregnant - while both they and their baby stay healthy.

Good luck!
Reply:I dont think you can gain weight from it %26amp; yes you should be able to have children! You can get these removed

Cyst, after operation a 2 cm white tissue came out with the scab when i puled on it?

I recently went for a opp after my small cyst on my chest became infected with puss and swelled to about 4cm in size, after the opp the wound was left open to heal, i did dressing everyday. Today when i was wiping the wound clean the scab came off and together a 2cm flash tissue came from inside! Any body had similar exp?...is it left over from the cyst?

Cyst, after operation a 2 cm white tissue came out with the scab when i puled on it?
It sounds a little infected to me. It only takes a little left over bacteria from the surgery to re-infect the wound. Cysts are a tough cookie to overcome. There is alot of information you might be interested in reading at jeunepeau.com about cysts and natural treatments to kill the bacteria. It worked for me. I love telling others to check it out. If you get worried, call your Dr. that's always a good thing too. Hope that helps
Reply:Sounds like it could be an abcess.

5.6 cm Pelvic Cyst. Should I be freaking out?

I've always been a calm, collected person.

I know a a lot about medicine (especially for a 17 year old), and have never been scared of any medical problem.

I've had numerous chronic pain conditions, insulin resistance, hypoglycemia, back problems, depression, and chronic "feeling like crap".

You'd think not much would phase me, but I am scared S#ITLESS right now.

Last week, during a CT scan for what we thought might be a hernia, they found a 5.6 cm "pelvic cyst" (we're schedualing a pelvic CT to get a better pic).

My grandmother died of ovarian/uterine/cervical cancer.

My aunt had it, it spread to the rest of her body, eventually her brain.

She died.

My mother has had LOTS of cysts.

What is the prevalence of cancerous pelvic cysts in teenagers?

Have any of you had cysts?

How are they removed?

Is removal painful?

Thank you for any answers, your input is VERY appreciated

5.6 cm Pelvic Cyst. Should I be freaking out?
First thing, ask for a blood test which I think is a c125 for ovarian cancer. If that is negative, then don't panic, you have a cyst like 90% of women. If it is not causing you pain, then no need to have it removed. If it is uncomfortable, then they can remove it with a small operation, no big cuts, through your belly button. Just ask you doctor. If he immediately says surgery, get another opinion. Always get a second opinion!!!!

Cyst on ovary and masturbation?

My girlfriend had a cyst on one of her ovaries about a year ago. We went awhile without any sex play for a while. When I tried to finger her (this has been quite a few times, now) she told me stop because it was hurting where the cyst used to be. I entered her slowly and she was in excruciating pain. What can be done so this doesn't happen anymore?

Cyst on ovary and masturbation?
she can talk to her Dr or a health nurse about it and ways to make things easier

Cyst on left ovary?
I had same thing. Most painful thing I have ever encountered. Please keep n eye on the situation and have it removed if it continues to bother you.
Reply:If it's still there and that painful, then yes it will need drained or removed. I had one drained because it was in a bad place to remove. Then it came back and I didn't know and it ruptured. trust me YOU DO NOT WANT THAT to happen. It was excruciating. The surgery to remove it is pretty simple and can be done as an out patient
Reply:Positively get a 2nd opinion. If it is a cyst due to endometriosis then it will do nothing but grow bigger. Look up endometrioma. Thats what they call that type of cyst.
Reply:based from my experience...yes, you should have it removed and let them do a biopsy, so you will know if it is malignant or not. And if you are in doubt with this doctor, have a second opinion with another doctor.

it is normal to feel pain during ovulation, so don't worry about it.

Cyst or abscess on my face?

Last week I was breaking out a lot on my forehead, for whatever reason. Nothing major, like 2 or 3 pimples. So a week ago I got this lump next to my right eye, kind of on my browbone, but fairly close to the corner of my eye. I thought it was a pimple forming. I have not been able to pop it, there is no head, it is hard, I have had cyst like pimples that aren't this hard and I know this is horrible, but I even tried to stick a needle in it. It will not pop or bleed or anything. I do not think it is a pimple, I think it is a cyst or abcess. What do you think? it is about a half inch long by a quarter of an inch wide. it is like a pebble. I feel like I'm getting a headache from the pressure. Should I wait and go to the Dr or should I hurry and go to the ER. I would feel bad if it is a pimple, but feel like it should be lanced. My mom said don't touch it because it is close to my brain and she doesn't want me to get an infection. HELP.

Cyst or abscess on my face?
I used to have two cysts on my face, one where you have one and one on my lip...messing with them inflames them and causes them to get huge....a dr can remove them or they go away after time......
Reply:Never pop a pimple as this is what spreads the bacteria. Since this is still there you need to see the doc but no you don't need to go to urgent care or ER. Just have you mom get a doc appointment for you and get this treated.

Cyst problem?

ive had this cyst right in the middle of my chest for almost 3 years.. went to the doctor and he tried sticking a needle in it i guess to drain and no luck. he said it hardened. he ask if it bothered me and said no and he said wait and see if it goes away on its own... as of about a week ago it just started hurting and getting bigger and now i have a bruise color and is almost the size of a golf ball which was nowhere like this a week ago. it was the size of a small marble a week ago. i will definately go to the doctor but for now i need a little comforting on what it may be; like. ie. cancer which i hope not or which kind of cyst does anyone thinks it is. please help. im worried. im a male 28 yrs old....

Cyst problem?
It sounds just like a sebaceous cyst that has been irritated. Probably when the doctor tried to needle aspirate it, he set it off, and he may have ruptured a small blood supply nearby, which is why it's bruised. The doctor can remove it and hopefully solve your problem. Just leave it alone until you can get back to see him, don't mess with it because you certainly don't want to break it under the skin. But no, it doesn't sound like cancer at all. Think positive and quit thinking exotic.
Reply:Don't worry so...more then likely its just infected....they will either lance it to drain it and give you antibiotics or may even surgical remove it and biopsy it , Some people are just unlucky to get cyst...some times they don't case pain, but every thing you wrote tells me it's infected get it looked at ASAP because it can lead to more serious problem.
Reply:Probably just a cyst I had one on my back about 5 minutes and a surgeon can have it removed its no biggy. Mine turned purple and started hurting also. If it turns it just means its getting infected and need removed.

Cyst on my left ovary...?

Just went to the doctors office the other day...had an exam done. He than asked me to have an ultrasound done and some bloodwork. So I went for it, and had a vaginal ultrasound. The ultrasound tech pointed out a cyst on my left ovary to me, but woudlnt really give me any details... I am overweight, and have a lot of the symptoms of poly cystic ovarian syndrome... but now I do know for a fact that I have a cyst...could this be a result of me being overweight? does it have some kind of connection for hormonal imbalances? also, i do not get my period normally... i get it, but when i do its painful and very very heavy, and usually i can only get it if its induced (usually by a birth control pill) ... for the rest of the time when i do get it, its mostly just spotting and its a dark brown color...has anyone else ever had this?? also...the spotting will go away for a couple of months, and than come back and i'll have it for like 2 months straight...any suggestions?? similar experiences?? TY

Cyst on my left ovary...?
Sounds like PCOS. You should join a support group.

Listen, usually they put women with PCOS on metformim or orlistat. Metformim is a pre-diabetic treatment that helps control your blood sugar levels to help you lose weight.

Orlistat.. studies have shown is effective in not only helping women with PCOS lose weight but regain their periods without extra medication. The great news is that Orlistat just became available over the counter. see link below.

The trick to losing weight (which help your period start on it's own) is to eat as if you were diabetic.
Reply:i have ovarian cysts, too, and i freaked out at first when my doctor told me, but after doing some online research, i came to find out that they are very normal...i don't know about your exact situation, but i suggest you google search "ovarian cyst" and you can read all about it...
Reply:Yes, looks like poly cystic ovarian syndrome, yes is is either cause of hormonal imbalance or the other way round. Now you need to follow the directions and meds which your doctor tell you to do or take. With those things life can become bearable otherwise you would suffer the rest of your life.
Reply:I was diagnosed with a cyst on my left ovary last year. I don't think this has anything to do with your weight as from what I was told it's usually something people are born with and it just continues to grow until it causes a problem. It definately makes your horomones run rampant though - one minute you may be happy as can be and the next minute you can be super irritated and balling your eyes out. I've never had the period issues that you have, but I wouldn't doubt that they are connected to your cyst. Just keep checking back with your doctor. If your cyst is larger than 5cm they'll try treating for a month or so with BC pills, measure it again, and if it hasn't shrunk below 5cm or has grown larger they'll surgically remove it. Lucky for me the birth control helps. Good Luck! :-)
Reply:i had cysts all around my ovaries , abnormal pap and bleeding almost always but every time i had sex .... doc tried the freezing technique , the laser , and finally had to have complete hysterectomy ... that is what it took to take care of everything . but it may be different for you . do not miss one doctors appointment
Reply:Listen hun this has absolutely nothing at all to with you being over weight I'm 5'1 110 pounds and have them get them all the time an they will kinda hurt but they'll go away your fine and your beautiful just they way you are.

Cyst on my wrist?

I have a ganglion cyst on my wrist. Today I fell on it and i think i popped it or burst it or something. Its hurts sooooo much! My arm also feels a little numb when i try to bend my wrist. What should I do? Will it be okay that i burst the cyst and once the pain subsides should i be better off or idk im confused!!

Cyst on my wrist?
I had a ganglion cyst once. I had to get it removed because it hurt so much. I would recommend that you call your doctor and at least let him/her know that you injured it recently. He might want to have you come in especially if you are feeling numbness. It's better to have it checked out just to be safe. Feel better soon!
Reply:google "bible bump"..they use to whack them w a bible in the old days...use ice 3xday,then moist heat x2days..take advil per label..it should get better see a dr if it doesnt.

Reply:You will go fine now that you have popped the cyst. Most of the time you have it injected or surgically removed. You will have some initial pain but it should subside. Be aware that they do recur. Think of the money you saved. Years ago they slammed a Bible into it since it was the largest book in the house......
Reply:Go to the doctor.
Reply:i have a cyst too... but its solid. if yours is too, you probably broke it and need surgery. otherwise just take tylenol and wait
Reply:I think that you might need to go and see the doctor with this problem seriously because that is nothing to joke about and i hope that you feel ok.

Im 21 with dermoid cyst and a complex cyst about to looses my ovarys?
I have never had cyst or anything of that nature But I do know that by getting a complete Hysterectomy you do have other option. That is a Big Surgery. After you will have to take hormones for the rest of your life. that's a huge thing also. Since it might cause heart attack or stroke, cancer, many things. You need those Ovaries. Tell your Doctor that if all possible you would like to keep your ovaries and if he thinks you need a Complete Hysterectomy Then by all means get a second oppion, maybe even a third or forth opinion. It is your body. Sometimes them Doctor's might be to quick to say you need a Complete Hysterectomy, especially if you have insurance they can Milk. That is their Bread and Butter. And it is your Body. So remember that. God Bless You!

Pain after ruptured ovarian cyst?

It has now been 6 days since the docs said I suffered from a ruptured ovarian cyst. I still have extreme pain at times, not on the side they say ruptured, it's all over, like labor pains, the pressure on my pelvic bone is intollerable, and the fullness feeling in the pelvic area is really starting to get annoying. Is this normal? Has anyone else after a ruptured cyst felt this way after almost a week. I know i'm sounding very elementary here, but after 10 yrs of dealing with cysts and many ruptured cysts in that time, i've mever experianced a ruptured like this before. I just want to know if i'm losing it, or if theres been others who have experianced this also. Thanks for your time.

Pain after ruptured ovarian cyst?
I have never had a problem with ruptured cysts but have talked to others who have had this happen and this does not sound normal to me. I would recommend getting back in touch with your doctor to see what they say.
Reply:The pain I had from ruptured cysts (before the big one) could be "controlled" with Thermacare heat wraps after about 4 days and eventually went away. Your current problem is much more serious than anything I went through. Please call the new doctor and talk to the nurse in detail about the pain you are experiencing, as well as the drainage. She might be able to squeeze you in on a cancellation.

Hugs!

Pregnancy mistaken for a cyst?

I'm in a very wierd situation right now and cant see my doc again until Tuesday. I ws 6 weeks pregnant on Dec. 6 when I started bleeding heavily. I now know that it was a misscarriage, but because my HCG levels never fluctuated my doctor could not confirm until Dec. 24 from ultrasound results. At the time of the U.S the doc found what she claims was a cyst. Last week I found out I am pregnant again, and would need immediate ultra sound to ensure the "cyst" wasnt going to cause a problem. Well I had my ultrasound yesterday, and they found NO cyst and dated me at 9.5 weeks, wich means I would have been preggers at the first US is it possible they mistook my baby for a cyst?

Pregnancy mistaken for a cyst?
A gestational sac and an ovarian cyst are similar appearing structures....both black and rounded. BUT, they are located in different areas. A gestational sac is within the uterus (or should be for a normal pregnancy) and an ovarian cyst is outside of the uterus, on the ovary. I am not sure how anybody, who is familar with female anatomy, could confuse the two.

The cyst seen at your 12-24 ultrasound was probably a corpus luteum cyst, which makes progesterone. This prepares your body for pregnancy, should the sperm meet the egg and a baby is conceived. These cysts are present before pregnancy and remain in early pregnancy. So, you were either very early into pregnancy at that scan or about to get pregnant. At 9.5 weeks, we would expect the corpus luteum to be gone. Best wishes with your pregnancy!
Reply:The definition of cyst is a fluid filled sac.......

Pregnancy also consist of a fluid filled sac......

Might have been just very early pregnancy, when no heartbeat can be detected.

Cyst on my dogs head?

My yellow labrador recently my dog has had a cyst on it's head, and at random times it can spew out liquid.

Our vet said that it was a cyst and to squeeze out the liquid but is there anything else we can put on it to help it possibly heal instead of squeezing it.

Cyst on my dogs head?
eewww. that sound gross!

i think a second opinion from another vet would be a good idea. There could be an ointment that will help or maybe the cysts are a symptom of a bigger problem.

either way it sounds painful for the dog ( cyst=giant zit.)

ow!
Reply:Your vet is correct in his advise. I usually just squeeze it gently and then clean it with alcohol on a cotton ball. Some dogs are just prone to them. They are normally harmless and do not need to be removed.

They come and go and sometimes they have something in them and sometimes they don't.

I have a keloid cyst,CAN ANYBODY HELP ME/nose piercing problem/?

Well,hi!I went to a specialist in ears,nose/you know a doctor/ and found out i have a keloid cyst in my nose, caused by my 1 month nose piercing.See,i have a swollen bud-like skin tissue in my nose around my inside piercing opening-not red,not painful,no pus,but has like''eaten''my labret's stick. And it could grow and then need of operation. If i get sick, even just a simple flue, this could infect my piercing, when pus going to my brain, could cause sinosit, psycological complications, even death.Altogether with this infections and pus complications, they will annoy the cyst and it could get bigger,so it make it difficult to breath, and operation will be a must. I have already used gentamicin,baneocin,diprogenta-didn't help. And now this doctor prescribed me Oxycort spray to spray it trying approching in my piercing holes, and keep using baneocin on the swollen keloid cyst iitself.Do you think all this antibiotics could make the cyst go away.I doubt it.ANYONE to help me,i realy want my nostril

I have a keloid cyst,CAN ANYBODY HELP ME/nose piercing problem/?
take the piercing out

contact a ENT plastic surgeon who knows how to remove the keloid (abnormal car tissue) without causing MORE scar tissue issues

cortisone tape or spray can help decrease the odds of developing another keloid AFTER you get the 1st one removed

Cyst on ovary?

could i get pregnant with an ovarian cyst?

how long will it take if i can (after the cyst is gone?)

Cyst on ovary?
It is possible, especially if you have a cyst on only one ovary (remember you have two, one on either side of your uterus).

If the cyst makes ovum release difficult on one ovary, it might be a bit more difficult to conceive, but it won't be out of the question...your other ovary will have to compensate.
Reply:I am not sure how long it will take you to get pregnant, but I had an ovarion cyst the size of a tennis ball and it was surgically removed. Other than the fact that my daughter was 2 weeks past due, and I wasn't pregnant at the time of the cyst, I gave birth exactly a year later. So, I was pregnant within 2 months!!!

Cyst in my leg. What do i do?

I have a cyst on the right side of my leg near the calf muscle. It had been there at least four years before becoming infected. It once became infected and i treated it with ointment and hot wraps, which caused it to go away. Well now its back and hurts worse than ever. I'm still doing the treatments but it doesn't seem like last time. It's trying to come out of my skin and its very painful and bleeds. Last time it came out of the skin but didn't bleed. I've done research and apparently there is a bone spur at the core of the cyst and if you don't get it removed it keeps coming back and causing trouble. I really don't want to have to have surgery. Does anyone have any advice or alternatives or any ideas as to what is wrong with me?

Cyst in my leg. What do i do?
I would stop trying to avoid the inevitable. Why deal with the pain when surgery will get rid of it and any chances of it being cancerous? Why would you even risk not having surgery? Medicine will only help for so long. Do you really want to risk this cyst growing even larger? GO TO THE DOCTOR!!!
Reply:doctors are helpful

Cyst all of a sudden swelled. Should I be worried?

For almost two years, I've had a small cyst on my lower torso. I originally thought it was a zit so I'd pop it, but it just came back. I've popped it probably five times- i didn't know better. it got to a point where there was bump with a hole in it, but the hole had a scab over it, but still, some strange hole in the cyst. about last week, after six months of it having a hole, the hole finally scabbed over. then i noticed it slightly hurt if i touched it, but i didn't pay any heed to it. then i noticed it slightly swelled this weekend and gave me more discomfort if i sat down or stood up in certain ways. then three days ago, i noticed it had grown much bigger and hurt a lot. it's almost the size of a quarter now. it's very painful if anything touches it. why would it all of sudden swell up on me when it's been small for so long? should i see the doctor? how would it be removed? how much does that cost?

Cyst all of a sudden swelled. Should I be worried?
i would DEFINATELY go to the doctor. the fact that its swelling and becoming more painful means something is wrong.
Reply:Yeah you should be worried you are gonna have to get it surgically removed
Reply:DUH!

Go see a doctor.

How much des it cost...? How much is your life worth to you?
Reply:you can go to your local health dept. and they will remove it for free. i had to do the same thing they can be quite painful if left unattanded so yes go to the dr. it may actually be a swollen lymph gland in that case they can put you on anti-biotics to make the swelling go down.
Reply:I am not sure if they will remove it or if it's infected.

Clean it with peroxide and call your doctor. Get seen and go from there. Hopefully it's just an infected "cyst".

Can be healed with some antibiotics.

Cyst in uterus and ovary?

I recently had a pelvic scan. the report said there is a cyst on the uterus(1x1.8 cm) and another in ovary. it also said I hava a fatty liver. but my Dr. says that they are small cysts and no treatment is required and I am normal. is this true. because I have been having pain for the past 4 years while having sex.

Cyst in uterus and ovary?
I've had cyst on the ovaries off and on since I was 18...and I'm 44 now.

Most of the cyst are just fluid filled that may disappear on their own.

I was recently told I have a complex cyst, and that one requires surgery.

The fluid ones are called simple cyst.

You will probably have to go for another ultrasound in 3-4 months for comparison. If the pain becomes unbearable, contact your doctor.

With sex, try taking the "top" position as you can take control over where the pain is, and how to avoid it.

Good luck!!

Cyst in your breast...Please help.?

I have a cyst in my ovaries and just started taking the patch now i have cyst in my breast and they're very painful!! Should I be worried. My Doctors said I should wait and see...but how about if its too late to wait and see.

Cyst in your breast...Please help.?
As a general rule, cysts that are painful are nothing to be worried about. The cysts develop due to hormonal changes, excessive caffeine, excessive excercise (or lack therof), dehydration. If you doctor wishes to do a wait and see approach it is more than likely that one of the above is suspect. You mention taking 'the patch'. There are several, are you speaking of a hormone patch, birth control patch, nicotine patch? I would think perhaps hormone patch and this could be a contributor to the new cyst development. Continue to do follow ups with your doctor, she will monitor the cysts growth, the dosage of your patch and any abnormal or new physical developments. Right now, there isn't much you can do other than treat the sore breasts and boy it does hurt!

The best way to relieve the pain is to take ibuprofen, or Tylenol, drink lots of extra water, and use a cold pack to your chest to relieve symptoms. If the pain is simply intolerable, and sometimes it is because we move so much throughout the day and it affects our sleep, thus more pain because no rest call up your doc and get a Rx of pain meds to get you through.

Blessings!
Reply:The doctor would not tell you to wait if he/she thought it could be cancer.

Cyst/bloodclot problem?

I recently had a 13cm cyst removed from my ovary. I am still experiencing pain on my left side, so my dr sent me for an ultrasound. I just got the results back..and have another mass. My dr said they are not sure if it is a blood clot or if it is a cyst, but did say it has cystic properties..so they are sending me for an mri . Do bloodclots have cytic properties??

Also, how fast do these things grow? i had surgery 3 weeks ago...and it seems soo fast for it to have grown back again.

Thanks

Cyst/bloodclot problem?
Clots do not usually have cystic properties, but there is a kind of cyst that can occur that has blood in it that is called an endometrioma or a chocolate cyst. The reason this is called a chocolate cyst is because when this kind of cyst bursts the blood that comes out is brown and old.

As for how fast a cyst grows, most cysts are fluid filled and when they are that means that it's not cancer.

I would recommend talking to your doctor again to ask for further clarification of the results of the ultrasound.

If you have any questions about having an MRI please feel free to e-mail or IM me off site any time.

Explain my cyst problem?

ok- lower right side stomach hurt when pushed in, hurt when bladder full and hurt when i would suck in stomach, sometimes sex hurt also.

Went to hospital other day (couldnt go to doctor no insurnace) and they did a ultra sound and then an internal ultrasound and then a regular look inside /pap smear ect...

Well they determined from the ultrasound i have a 2cm cyst on my right ovary and a bunch of little ones. I've expierenced this right side stomach problem since i was about 13-14 (after period started) and its just really painful if i push it in hard,,, or sometimes it acts up for a minute and goes away if i push on my stomach and relax..

I'm only 20 so i have really noone to ask. I'm married and we really want to have a bbay in a year or two and im scared we arn't going to be able to now. I have always gotten my period on time monthly, no discharge through the months, no hair extra hair growth so im praying i dont have polycystic ovarian disease

Explain my cyst problem?
Planned Parenthood gives excellent treatment to women for any reason, I developed fibroids a few years ago, and they helped me quite a bit.

Reply:Cysts can be defined as a collection of fluids and semi-fluid substances in a cavity within the body formed as a result of some abnormalities. Cyst is formed within a sac and it has a distinct membrane and it develops abnormally.

Cysts can occur on any location in the body, but there are certain common body parts that get affected by cysts. Each cyst is known by different names based on the location they are found in including ganglion cyst at tendons and joints, ovarian cyst at ovaries, pilonidal cyst at the skin near tailbone, renal cyst on kidneys, radicular cyst at the roots of teeth, keratocyst in the jaws, and glial cyst in the brain.

There are some other forms of cysts also including paratubal cyst, vocal fold cyst, bronchial cyst, Tarlov cyst, and dentigerous cyst.

A single cyst found in the body during a medical examination may usually be harmless, but if a number of cysts are found in any organ they need to be tested further as there is a chance for a disease or major infection in that particular organ.

Cyst on Spleen?

I was at the hospital yesterday for throwing up, left sided abdominal pain, fever, headache. The doctor told me that I had gastroentritis along with a bladder infection but the CT scan showed that I had a cyst on my spleen. He said that it looks like its benign and he gave me iv fluids and sent me home with nausea medicine and a antibiotic for the bladder infection. If you could please give me some information on the cyst on my spleen I never had this before...Could this be why I had abdominal discomfort and throwing up along with all of my other symptoms?? Also the throwing up came all of a sudden when I woke up during the night.

Cyst on Spleen?
Actually most spleen cysts do not cause any symptoms, bladder infections however are notorious for making you feel awful. Coupled with gastroenteritis, I'm not surprised you're concerned because you probably feel terrible!

Usually the only time cysts cause problems is when they grow and start to press upon other organs in our bodies. At this point it's time for drainage (if fluid-filled) or removal. Seeing as the doctor spotted it on the CT scan, he probably ruled out that issue. However, do make your primary doctor aware of it so that it can be monitored to ensure it;s not growing.

Hope you feel better soon!

Cyst on ovaries?

O.k so I know this lady who ALWAYS has something wrong with her. She is off to the hospital every other month for some emergency or another. The latest is that she has a cyst on her ovaries. She claims it is the size of a soccer ball. Now I am no Dr but if it were that big wouldn't she look pregnant or something.

I want to be supportive of her but I just can't believe half the things she tells me anymore. Has anyone out there had a cyst on their ovaries. Could you please tell me a little bit about them and what the symptoms are and how they are dealt with.

Cyst on ovaries?
I had a cyst after the twins were born. It was just before I got my first period. I can tell you it hurt like crazy. It felt like I was in labour again. I actually said to Andrew one night I thought the boys may have been triplets.

Mine was only about 5cm wide and disappeared when I got my period. The doctor prescribed me a very strong painkiller.

Every time my stomach contracted I would be in pain, I couldn't lie down without crying in pain. And I have a high pain tolerance.

A woman gets a cyst on her ovaries every month (ask your doctor). It usually disappears when you have your period. Sometimes it can stay and become painful. Usually after you haven't had a period in ages (like when your pregnant).

If this is true she would look pregnant. Where else would you hid a soccer ball.

If it was true she would have been put in for immediate surgery, because they can turn cancerous.

Good Luck tomorrow @ the Doctors!!

Reply:I had no symptoms at all, the doctor told me I had 2 on each ovary, after surgery for endometriosis
Reply:I had one the size of a grapefruit on my right ovary. The Dr only felt it during a pap. I know some people are basically asymptomatic, but mine hurt like hell!! Very sudden sharp pains to the abdomen. Took my breath away. They put me on birth control pills to shrink it, and that took care of it. Of course everyones body works a little differently.
