Left ovarian cyst?

i'm almost 21 yrs old. i have a 4.8CM COMPLEX left ovarian cyst. they said it's "complex" and i'm not really for sure what this means? i had to go to the ER this past saturday from bleeding over 2 weeks. after i finished period, i started BC last sunday and was passing huge clots/ tons of blood so was hospitalized and then sonogram determined this complex cyst. i go to gyn on thursday so i'm assuming he'll do another sonogram and prbly biopsy? how do they go about doing a biopsy on an ovarian cyst? how do they remove it? birth control or surgery?? is it just a cyst or "complex" make it something more severe (ie tumor...benign?) i'm so confused!! and won't know till thursday

btw- i have very irregular periods. prbly caused by this. before 2 wks ago, my last period was march 2006.

thanks for all whom can tell me something......appreciate it.

Left ovarian cyst?
Hey there. Do not worry until the doctor says you need to. There is a very high chance that these cysts are benign. You are young. By no means should you have any sort of reproductive cancers at this age unless exposed to high amounts of "bad" radiation, or a very aggressive STD. Be prepared for some trying medical exams and needles. You'll be fine in the end. Think positive and as God to heal you. You'll be nothing short of a miracle if you are a believer.
Reply:well i understand where your coming from i have a right ovarian cyst. its simple but pretty big the last time my gyn checked it grew and it was about 6 centimeters. i went 9 months with it due to my pregnancy. Dont worry it will be ok, and to answer your questioned on how its removed unless your pregnant its done by surgery. Just pray and God Will take care of it.
