I have a small lump under my ear and by an ultra sound the local surgeon said it was a dermal cyst that is going to have to be removed. At first however she throught that it was a swollen lymphnod. She explained what that was but not what the dermal cyst was. Can anyone explain what a dermal cyst is? Any information at all would be nice the more the better! Thanks

dermal cyst is a cyst in the derma or skin.this is a common location for these .it is a pocket of fluid or debris that is trapped under the skin. sometimes these become infected
