My little dog had a fatty cyst under skin, no bigger then a little pebble ball. While massaging her back, I felt her cyst, and as I did, my other dog scratched at me which caused me tighten my hands in pain. I realize I still had the cyst in my hand, and I crushed it. I heard like a popping sound. My dog didn't seem to notice it, but Im worried.
My dog cyst got popped. Help!?
Take him to the vet just to be sure.

Reply:for immediate treatment, boil and cool some water, add salt and give a good salt wash, using fresh cotton wool or tissue for each "stroke" over the open cyst area. Do this a couple of times tonight and then again tomorrow morning until you can either speak to a vet or take your dog to the vet. if it looks yukky, clean it in the salt water a bit more often, try to keep it as clean as possible. if you are REALLY worried tonight, phone an on-call vet (see yellow pages or online) and see what they advise.
