Ovarian Cyst Symptoms Check?

According to the information at WebMd, symptoms include:

* Frequent urination, if a cyst is pressing against your bladder.

* Abdominal pain.

* Menstrual period changes.

* Weight gain.

I know I'm harboring a "fugitive" on my right side ovary-- (I see the doctor again tomorrow for the ultrasound) but could the 6 lbs that won't come off be because of this dang thing? My poor abdomen has been bloated for the last 5 months since the pain came... and I work out for an hour almost every day and have a strict healthy diet, I've been trying to lose it but the numbers don't change.

My question is: Have any of you cyst-sufferers gained weight b/c of your cysts? What's been your experience?

Thank you.

Ovarian Cyst Symptoms Check?
One possibility is Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, which as well as causing ovarian cysts, can also cause insulin resistance (and therefore weight gain), lack of menstruation, infertility and other problems. Diagnosis is usually made by a Reproductive Endocrinologist or Ob/Gyn who is knowledgable about the disease.

For women who have gained extra weight due to PCOS, the South Beach Diet or something similar is usually helpful.

Reply:Hmm not sure if its the cause, but I am pretty sure I have a cyst ( pain, irregularities, and some abnormal bleeding) and I did notice when I started feeling the pelvic pain was around the time I gained about 15 lbs in weight (after being at the same weight for a long period of time), I wonder if it does have something to do with it?
Reply:I have had a lot of abdominal pain and menstrual changes with my ovarian cyst, but I never gained any weight with mine.

I couldn't imagine a cyst being 6 lbs.
